The Personal Development programme at CEC uses the PSHE Association, Unifrog and CDI frameworks to provide out students in Year 7-11 with an enriching
The scheme of work is broken down into 6 key themes based broadly on the PSHE Association programme of study, the CDI framework for careers and additional topics required by statute or that form part of the provision.
Those six themes are:
- British Values
- Relationships
- Society & Me
- My Future
- Keeping Safe
- Staying Healthy
Year 7 and 8 explores what it means to be British; respectful relationships & friendships; Internet safety and harms; an introduction to careers development and employability; personal health and changes, mental health and emotional wellbeing; Money and Finances
Year 9 have themes that will build on their topics from KS3 including: Safety; Mental Health and Substance Abuse; the risks of online content including pornography; next steps & preparing for work experience; being safe in relationships including consent; changing adolescent body and self-checking.
Year 10 explore crime & punishment in the United Kingdom; creating and maintaining positive relationships; my identity - including the Equality Act; budgeting for my future and how to save; intimate and sexual relationships; Preparing for the world of work
Year 11 explore making decisions; consent; healthy sexual relationships; pregnancy; impacts of becoming a parent; stress and different types of stress, causes and impacts; money and budgets; careers and next steps
